Earth Day We had such a fun time planting flowers in our Kinder Garden for Earth Day! Did you know there are millions of aphids on our roses? We just read that ladybugs are helpful because they can eat up to 5,000 aphids in their lifetime. Even more exciting that reading about ladybugs was discovering hundreds of them in our garden. We have EVERY stage of the life cycle on the chrysanthemum bush.
Mrs. Baker's 4th graders came to help us in the afternoon. And in addition to planting flowers, each student got to plant their choice of pumpkin seeds or peas. They will bring home their seeds once they sprout so you can put them in YOUR garden! Take a look at some of the highlights from our day. Thanks so much to everyone who sent flowers and came to help.

Would you believe it? The leprechauns came early! We set our traps, turned off the lights, and closed the doors as we went to lunch. We were hoping to catch a leprechaun even though it was a week early. There were plenty of rainbows and gold coins to attract attention. When we came back from lunch our classroom was a mess! Traps were tripped, glitter and tiny footprints were everywhere . . . there was even green water in our toilet! The little guys forgot to flush! Our calendar squares were out of order, green crayons were spilled out of their cups, and a note was left on our white board. I hope you had a chance to hear about it over spring break. It was exciting!
We had a great time celebrating Dr. Seuss. We rhymed and we read. We even went home looking like Thing 1 and Thing 2!
